The Giza Plateau is a limestone plateau in Giza, Egypt, the site of the Fourth Dynasty Giza pyramid complex, which includes the pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure, the Great Sphinx, several cemeteries, a workers' village and an industrial complex.

Pyramids of Giza, three 4th-dynasty (c. 2575–c. 2465 BCE) pyramids erected on a rocky plateau on the west bank of the Nile River near Al-Jīzah (Giza) in northern Egypt. In ancient times they were included among the Seven Wonders of the World. 

The pyramid of Menkaure is the smallest of the three main pyramids of the Giza pyramid complex, located on the Giza Plateau in the southwestern outskirts of Cairo, Egypt. 

It is thought to have been built to serve as the tomb of the Fourth Dynasty Egyptian Pharaoh Menkaure.

 Khufu (originally 481 feet high, and sometimes called Cheops, or the Great Pyramid); Khafre (471 feet); and Menkaure (213 feet).Egypt,  country located in the northeastern corner of Africa. Egypt’s heartland, the Nile River valley and delta, was the home of one of the principal civilizations of the ancient Middle East.

The Great Sphinx of Giza is a limestone statue of a reclining sphinx, a mythical creature with the head of a human and the body of a lion. Facing directly from west to east, it stands on the Giza Plateau on the west bank of the Nile in Giza, Egypt. The face of the Sphinx appears to represent the pharaoh Khafre.

The Sphinx is the oldest known monumental sculpture in Egypt and one of the most recognizable statues in the world.

Kusadasi has retained a certain earthiness to it and inexpensive meals and drinks can still be found in town. Many shops do a brisk trade with passengers from hundreds of cruise ships that dock for a day or two, allowing enough time for a trip to Ephesus and a shopping expedition.

In the 4th century BCE, Kusadasi came under the control of the Greek city-state of Ephesus. 

The city prospered during this time, and it became an important center of learning and culture. 

The Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, was located just a few miles from Kusadasi.

Ephesus - The ruins of Ephesus is 18km away from Kusadasi and it is one of the best preserved ancient cities of the world. It was built by Attic and Ionian Greek colonists in the 10BC and it is a very important UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE site. The city was famed for the nearby Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

Kuşadası is a beach resort town on Turkey’s western Aegean coast. A jumping-off point for visiting the classical ruins at nearby Ephesus (or Efes), 

it’s also a major cruise ship destination. Its seafront promenade, marina, and harbor are lined with hotels and restaurants.

While in Ephesus, make your way around ancient excavations, such as the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. 

Ephesus is a popular shore excursion destination from Kusadasi and the ruins of the ancient Greek city are among the most remarkable in Turkey.

The Kusadasi cruise terminal is fairly easy to navigate. You'll pass through a covered walkway on the way to shops, an accessible exit, and the area, just a short walk from our ship.
